I understand exactly what you are going through on your quest to become an artist because I went through over 30 years of stops and starts, muddling around, taking classes, reading books and accumulating just the right supplies, all in an attempt to get to a place where I really felt qualified to call myself an artist – to really feel like an artist. I don’t want you to waste any more time becoming the happy and satisfied artist you want to be – certainly not the 30 years it took me. I am willing, eager even, to share everything I know, so that you too can become the artist you dream of being.

I have developed a step-by-step approach for you to attain the sense of accomplishment and certainty, the Artist Success, you desire. My program is based on everything I have learned, experienced and accomplished over those 30 years. The best part is that it won’t take you 30 years to complete it. I have condensed it all down into fun and easy steps that will assist you in:

What exactly is Artist Success Coaching
and what does it include?

Creating and acquiring Artist Success begins with defining and understanding what you mean by artist success; determining what your major struggles are, and finding and creating ways to turn your struggles into success. Then, it means taking serious action on it. Here’s what my coaching gets you to do:

1. Make Artist Success a priority
We examine when and how you are making time for your art. We will work to make room in your schedule, prioritize your creative time, schedule in time to work on your art and put a pause on non-essential “leaks” in your time and creativity, so you can fully invest yourself in obtaining a balanced life. We will cluster your time, arrange your days and days off so that you make the most of every minute you have. Essentially, we clear the decks for what’s important to you.

2. Strategize your unique gifts and obstacles
We will examine exactly where you are in your business, what is working and what is not and develop your personal artist success strategy. We will discover what motivates you, what makes you and your art unique, what your blocks are and how to conquer them. We will also spend time figuring out ways to go about attracting (good) attention to yourself and your art (and how to handle the attention.

3. Craft your artist profile/persona
Together, we will find out exactly who you are: the WHO, WHAT, WHY, and HOW of what makes YOU and your art biz unique. We’ll get rid of the unnecessary and hone in on what is creating your current success and take that to the next level.

4. Construct your compelling message
You will find out how to craft art and make meaning that grabs the right kind of attention – the kind that pays off instead of costing you. We’ll explore the best ways to reach large numbers inexpensively. I take stock of your current biz and online persona, what you offer, what you know and help you create a business and online presence that plays on your best talents and gives you the biggest bang for the buck. I also look at positioning what you offer, how to price yourself and your art to bring in more money than you’re currently making.

5. Get out there in a BIG way
I will share with you the crucial mindset necessary to be your best self. We will also examine everything you need to do to reach your goals, stop hiding behind your artwork or excuses and shine your best self.

6. Implement systems for consistent action and results
Making art is not an easy smooth process. It can be lonely, frustrating, and even scary. The good news is, we will implement tried & true systems to make sure you will always be successful.

In addition to these 6 categories, you will learn a multitude of things to help you create art more easily, to make your time work for YOU, to work smarter not harder, to eliminate the fears, overwhelm and self sabotage that is creating stress and killing your creativity.

Obviously, this depends on how long you’ve been serious about your art and how much you put into the assignments that I give you. That said, virtually all clients see results within a couple of months in the form of new awareness, more production, and a solid foundation for future success. Clients who choose to work with me longer can expect and create the greatest results.
 

How can I guarantee myself that I will get more Artist Success, in record time?

Do all of your assignments. Be totally focused on Artist Success. Understand that it’s not a “quick fix,” it’s not magic and I can take up to a year for you to plant all the seeds and for those seeds to grow into the fruit that you can enjoy. I can guarantee this: you can expect more success in much less time than you would working on your own.
 

Is working with you worth the investment I put into this coaching program?

Yes, a resounding Yes! I want you to stop reading for just one moment to ask yourself, “What is confidence, certainty, creative inspiration and success as an artist worth to me, and how much happiness (and money) will it bring with those tools in my pocket?” Chances are that amount will more than cover your coaching investment. The saying goes that you can’t buy happiness. True, but you can create happiness, AND SUCCESS. The information and skills you learn through Artist Success will empower you and net you a life worth much, much more than what you invest …something to think over.

You can also think of coaching as an investment in your higher education. For less than the cost of a semester of college you can complete an individualized curriculum specializing in YOU and your Artist Success.

How are you different from other coaches?

As a successful professional artist for over 12 years, I intimately know the challenges and frustrations we face in our business. I tailor my coaching to specifically address those challenges and work on implementing key techniques and strategies to overcome them and simplify the business side of what we do. As creative people, I know we often have resistance to anything left-brained, especially business. I know exactly how to coach my clients through the business side of artist success to help them achieve the vision of success they have for themselves and their art.

Although we will work on time management and other “business coachy” things, I am an Artist Success expert and consultant. I ONLY work with individual artists. In other words, I don’t consult with non-artists or non-art businesses and I’m not a Jill-of-all-trades-coach. I refer those people to other coaches.

What that means for you is that I am very focused on anything and everything that works for the artist. Because my focus is very narrow, what you get with me is no-nonsense, undiluted expertise on what works for aspiring, new, established and successful artists who want to take their art and/or business to the next level. I’ve simply become an expert at this stuff and that’s why my clients get great results. You might call me a transformation artist.
 

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?

Artist Success was created for people who are positively excited and deadly serious about their art and putting an end to what I see as the #1 artist block – stalled creativity due to the fact that you don’t know if you are good enough; you don’t know what the next step is; or you are not courageous enough to take your art to the next level. Artist Success was created to help you erase doubt, grow your confidence, put systems and mindset in place which will eventually lead you to the artist success you crave.

Being a high achieving go-getter myself, I’m known to work best with other high achieving go-getters who are super-ready to get going and just want to know exactly what steps to take to create their success.

Consider what you’ll do with me to be an action learning course. You will be expected to take serious and consistent action. No excuses anymore, just a very different way of thinking and full support while you achieve this incredibly exciting goal of Artist Success.
 

For what type of artist is this program NOT going to work?

Please know I’m very selective in who I work with and I cherry-pick my clients, choosing to (gently) turn away people who aren’t suited for my programs and won’t get the results for which they would have signed up for. (It wouldn’t be fair to them.)

The type of person I won’t work with (without exception) is the whiner or the chronic skeptic, as well as individuals who consistently make excuses for not getting their assignments done or challenging every aspect of the program. If you are one of these people, I gently and respectfully ask that you not call and I hope you understand why. We’ll probably just not work well together and I wouldn’t want you to waste your time or money. Is that fair?

What is the commitment required?

To achieve lasting change in your life, a commitment of time is necessary. My coaching programs are booked in 3-month increments, allowing you time to implement your customized Artist Success plan. If you’re truly committed to creating Artist Success leading to improvement in your art, your business and your life, then you’ll be committed to investing months of your time to seriously work toward your goals.
 

How much coaching do I need?

In order to provide the ideal amount of guidance for each client, I offer three distinct coaching packages: the Basic Program, the Fast Track Program and the Premium Program.

Lesley, I’m not ready to commit to months of coaching, do you offer individual sessions as needed?

That’s a good question. The answer is no, I do not coach using the single-session method – one session, whenever you feel the need. It is a hit or miss approach and will not give you the Artist Success results you are looking for. My coaching programs are designed to create results and are for clients who are willing to make a commitment and an investment in themselves, play big in their art and their lives, and take a no excuses approach to doing whatever it takes to get the results they want.
